Hi,

On offer here is a signed / autographed copy of the LP Rain on a Conga Drum (Live in Berlin) by Townes van Zandt.


This LP came from a collection of signed albums that I believe belonged to someone who worked for a Country Music magazine (Country Music People?) and who got to interview Country Stars when they came to the UK to perform.

The majority of these LPs are personalised “to Colin” and a number of them have record company “promotional only” stamps on the sleeve. Some of the autographs also mention “thanks for the interview, chat” etc. On this record the autograph has not been personalised.

 

The vinyl appears to have never been played and is in Near Mint to Mint condition. The sleeve shows signs of wear with some minor creasing to the opening and in the bottom left hand corner There are some indentations (similar to someone writing on some paper on with the sleeve underneath) that are noticeable but not major. I would still rate the sleeve as being at least VG+.

Included is a record company hype sheet that backs up the theory that the record came from someone associated with the music industry. Also included is a promotional poster of a concert that Townes played on October 29th 1991 to promote the LP. The poster measures 59cm by 41cm. On the bill that night were John Kennedy, Justice Hahn and very special guests Alex Chilton and Robert Forster.
