Description
This album was from my parents' collection and gotten in the mid 1990s in Austin, TX. I grew up in Austin and while going to UT was in many bands. My parents had moved to Austin the 1960s and had dabbled in the late 60s early 70s Austin music scene -- cosmic cowboy, etc.
Anyway, in the 1990s while I was in bands and no longer living at home, my parents started going to shows again. Threadgills, Broken Spoke, Antones, Zona Rosa, Cactus Club at UT -- you name it: if Billy Joe Shaver, Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock, Townes... were playing, my parents were there. Somewhere in all that, they got this album and had Townes autograph it for them. (I have several CD's the same). Seems like Cactus Club might have been where they saw him. It was always nice and intimate.
After both my parents passed away, I stowed there music collection away. This and a bunch more have been in a box in my kitchen pantry for about five years.
As for the record's condition, I'd be very surprised if it was played more than a few times. I don't know for sure and no longer have a turntable to test it. Its hard to tell by the album cover too. It definitely does not look mint, even though it looks good. My guess is any appearance of wear is from it's having been in a dusty box full of records for at least 25 years.
Bid accordingly. But, know you'll be getting a little piece of a great American singer/songwriter's legacy even if the autograph looks like it was hurried and maybe done under the influence (if he was still so inclined at the time).
