Small Change is the fourth studio album by the American singer songwriter. It was released in 1976 on Asylum Records. The album features jazz legend Shelly Manne on drums and is heavily jazz influenced . Consisting largely of Waits gravely voiced set against a backdrop of piano upright bass, drums and saxophone. This album is revered by fans as his crowning moment when beatnik-glory- meets Hollywood noir period. Waits is simply brilliant in all his incarnations, a true musical chameleon and savant.
