Description
Tom Gervat - Look Away To Jesus (Resiliant (RRLP-1001), US 1982) Cover/Record: M- Rare and obscure privately pressed Christian based lp out of New Jersey, 1982. OK, where to start with this one. To say that Gervat has an interesting, unique voice and delivery is an understatement. His voice is somewhat akin to Elmer Fudd but with a quaivery, not sure of himself delivery that is pathetic and hilarious all at the same time. Side one is all takes of old Christian standards with his own unique twist. Side two is all original material, for good or bad..., mostly in the folk, folk rock, pop, ballad zones. Original songs include "One Drop of Blood", "The Hands That Were Nailed To A Tree", "Hundreds and Thousands of Roads", etc. This comes with a promotional letter signed by Gervat. Honestly one of the most unique and cringe worthy lp's i've heard in a long time. This is definitely in the realm of outsider, loner, DIY, vanity aka "Why would anybody release this" type of album. Move over Shaggs, there is a new horrible sheriff in town!
No reserve. Good luck!
