COMMENTS :Buckley was born in Washington D.C. on the 14th February 1947. He spent much of his early childhood in Amsterdam and New York, before his parents took him to Southern California, aged 10, and eventually settled in Anaheim. During his mid-teens, he performed in various country bands and played folk music around Los Angeles. However, his musical taste soon grew to take in jazz and rock'n'roll, which were both to be significant for his later work. He also developed an act with poet Larry Becket (who wrote many of the lyrics for future Buckley songs) and bassist, Jim Fielder, who later played with Buffalo Springfield, The Mothers and Blood, Sweat and Tears. During this period, he was introduced to Herb Cohen, who became his manager and arranged a recording deal with Elektra for him. Holzman was apparently bowled over by his latest acquisition. How far Buckley's music was influenced by the West Coast's acid rock movement is difficult to gauge. Many of his songs sound drug induced and, of course, he sadly died on 29th June 1975 from a heroin/morphine overdose. I WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE, note the shipping info below.
