Description

Top rarity for collectors of minimal synth, this is the rarest Norwegian synth vinyl.

Thorbjørn Grønning (1959-1991) issued a single in 1981, "Europa" b/w "Anarki" on his own label, but this LP is even more hard to find; I'm pretty certain it's the first time on eBay. Recorded in 1983-4, but not released until 1989 - because he had to work to finance it himself. 

It was sold locally in Stavanger and at Blitz, the famous Norwegian punk squat, and barely a few dozen copies made it out to the public, owing for an item that was virtually unknown until a few years ago when an article on Thorbjørn Grønning's body of work surfaced on the www. Musically, it's more downtempo than the single, most of it is as dark, haunting and wildly eccentric as his music from two years earlier. There are some fantastic tracks on this (Do check out the above link!), and it's insanely rare. This LP is in NM/EX condition (cover first).

Thorbjørn wanted to donate the proceeds from this LP to Norwegian environmental organisation Bellona, something he also stated on the cover. In honour of his wishes, the winning bidder will donate their bid directly to Bellona via their website www.bellona.org as a christmas charity.
