Description

The Spectres - Hurdy Gurdy Man - advance promotion copy (meaning that this was distributed to various radio stations etc before general release) Release Date: 18th. November 1966 .Produced by John Schroeder
on Piccadilly Records (Owned by PYE Records) with matrix no: 7N 35352 and shows A1/B1 matrices in the run-out grooves and hand hand-etched KT tax stampers (tax stampers were only used up till 1969).

This ultra rare 7" vinyl was the second single from British rock band, The Spectres (later to be known as Status Quo) .
The band's first attempt at a self-penned single (not to be confused with the Donovan song with the same title). "Hurdy Gurdy Man" is often incorrectly shown in Quo discographies as written by just Alan Lancaster. Yellow Piccadilly promotion copies were pressed. Now deleted.

Side A - Hurdy Gurdy Man (3:15)
Side B - Laticia (3:00)

A record like this does not come up for sale very often so this is a great chance to get hold of it , an excellent addition for a true music fan and record collector

Condition: Both sides are excellent. I cannot see any scratches, although there looks like some little dimples. This may originate from when it was made. It still has a beautiful shine to it. The yellow label on both sides also excellent condition. The blue PYE records sleeve is a little worn and has some bends in it. PLEASE NOTE: THE LITTLE WHITE SPECKS IN THE PHOTOS ARE DUST PARTICLES AS WAS USING CAMERA IN MACRO MODE.

Delivery: I will only post this tracked, signed and insured as it is a valuable item.
