Apart from its limited release as a CD single in 1988, 'The Headmaster Ritual' was never released as a single in the UK. This, coupled with the unique Morrissey-designed 'cowboy' sleeve artwork (see photos), contribute to the highly-collectable nature of this release. This particular pressing is interesting in that it incorrectly lists Track 05 as "Heat Is Murder" on the label (see photo), a mistake which was corrected in later pressings. It would appear that relatively few of the mis-pressed labels are in circulation, since the majority of copies for sale tend to carry the corrected version of the track title. Don't miss this unusual Smiths collectable which is becoming difficult to track down.

The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, with only light 'hairline' surface marks which become visible when the record is held to the light. The outer sleeve is also in strong excellent condition, with just some mild corner wear but no writing or damage to the sleeve anywhere and no significant creases. Please see the accompanying photos; note that the Ebay ID lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
