This is the original UK LP by the DOWNLINERS SECT, THE SECT, 1964 1st Press Mono, on the black and blue COLUMBIA label 33SX 1658, with "Columbia Gramophone Co.Ltd" rim label credit, "Recording First Published 1964" and "Sold in the UK" label credits, the LP comes complete with the original "Use Emitex" die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers are, side 1:- XAX 2729-1N, side 2:- XAX 2730-1N.
The original UK 1964 1st issue Mono E.J DAY flipback cover is in good condition for its age, with some minor creasing at the corners and a small 6mm tear long the lover seam running back from the opening. The back of the cover shows a little wear, and ageing and has some typical soiling of the card where it has been handled. The laminated front is very good with a few small area's of lamination creasing which is more evident at the corners. A respectable cover given that as the whole of the cover is prodominately white, any signs of ageing or general damage are easily seen and normally more pronounced on albums of this age.
The vinyl is visually in VG condition but it has been played, there are light marks on both sides, some more evident than others but these do not effect the audio on my player (Rega Planer 3), I have played and listened to both sides and was very impressed by the quality of playback. There is only a little light crackle, mainly inbetween tracks, a nice vinyl.
The original Columbia Black and Blue label's are in VG condition, lovely and clean and crisp, with no unwanted writing, and no scuffs, there are some minor spindle markings when viewed at an angle but the spindle hole only shows minimal wear.
The vinyl is housed in it's original UK 1964 "Use Emitex" die-cut inner sleeve in very good condition, however there is a 7cm split running back along one seam from the opening.
Altogether a very respectable copy of this original 1964 UK 1st press Mono LP by the DOWNLINERS SECT, THE SECT, a CLASSIC and RARE 1960's LP.
