Another special gem from Jim Fouratt's NYC collection. Sealed. Perfect.  In the early 1990s, Fouratt served as director of national publicity at Rhino Records, and from 1995 to 1999, Fouratt was the vice president of A&R at Mercury Records.

This is the third in a series of reissues. The front cover sleeve has a darker orange lettering than the previous reissues, the back cover is in color instead of black and white previously. The back cover reproduce the original liner notes and the original picture sleeve of the album. At last, this 1979 reissue is a repress with new matrix/runout (new cut).

[Liner notes:] "About this pressing... Meet The Residents was originally released in 1974, on the Ralph Records label. The tapes were monaural recordings on home equipment and suffered further fidelity loss in the mastering and pressing stages. In 1976, The Cryptic Corporation came into legal possession of The Residents recordings, and began working on how to restore these original tapes to studio quality. Using the master tape as a directive, the album was disassembled, reprocessed, and reconstructed into this stereophonic version. No re-recording was employed. The artists who appear on this recording have personally approved this as an authorized realization of the original LP. LP Grading Definitions   Mint (M) = Still sealed, brand new item.  Near Mint (NM or M-) = Played maybe once, near brand new / or still sealed old store stock.  Very Good Plus (VG+) = Very clean copy, little to no surface noise, slight paper scuffs, light scratches that do not greatly affect play. Any surface noise should be minimal or natural and only be heard in quiet passages or dead wax.  Very Good (VG) = Player copy, more pronounced scuffs and light scratches that do affect play, but do not overpower the music. Music should still be listenable, any surface noise should be subtle.  Good Plus (G+) = Record has scuffs and light scratches all over, but none that cause the record to skip. Music may be overpowered by surface noise.  Good (G) = Covered in scratches, some can be felt with a fingernail. visible at every angle. May *Pop or *Tick, throughout, overwhelming the music, but will still play through without skipping.
