While I don’t professionally grade records using systems like Goldmine or Record Collector, I’m a lifelong vinyl lover—as well as a musician and hi-fi enthusiast—with a discerning ear and a deep appreciation for recorded sound.
Over the years, I’ve developed a strong sense for detail, both as a performer and a listener, and I bring that same level of care and selectivity to the records I collect (and occasionally sell). As a long-time crate-digger, I’m pretty particular about what I bring into my collection. I always aim to source the best-sounding copies I can find and afford—no trashed jackets, and always with clean, unscratched playing surfaces. That said, I don’t stress over light handling marks; to me, they’re part of the vinyl experience—a reminder that records are meant to be played and enjoyed, not just archived.
I take good care of my (sizeable) collection, storing records upright in a climate-stable environment. When it’s time to listen, I use my trusty Rega Planar 3 turntable fitted with a top-quality Shure cartridge, plumbed through a vintage Quad 44 preamp and Quad 405-2, connected to a pair of Q-Acoustics bookshelf speakers. It’s not a flash set-up—just solid, dependable gear that gives an honest read of how a record truly sounds, while keeping wear to an absolute minimum.
