The Offspring 1986 1st 7" - Original Pressing on Black Label Records R-10487
I'll Be Waiting / Blackball
This is the original 1st pressing and the first piece of vinyl that they released on their own label Black Label Records. The record and sleeve are VG+. I am the original owner and it has only been played a handful of times. It has been carefully stored for the last 28 or 29 years. This is very rare find, there were only 1000 copies made and only 500 of them had a photo cover. It is also the first recording of these songs and feature the very first drummer James Lilja. These songs were later re-recorded for their self-titled first full length album on Nemesis. On the rear of the single, the lyrics to both songs, members and thank you's are listed as is their original home address. There is slight wear to the sleeve (please see the photos) but there are NO split seams, tears or heavy creasing. There is one small 1/2" scuff on the vinyl which does NOT affect the sound. I tried to get a picture of it but it is so tiny, it would not show up in the photo. more info from the web........."Notes
Recorded at South Coast Recording.The band itself released the single on Black Label Records (which the band named after a brand of beer), as a 7" vinyl record.
Only 1000 copies of this record were made, 500 with a sleeve and 500 without, and it took the band two and a half years to sell them all.
There is a limited reissue of this record made in 1994, the same year The Offspring released the highly acclaimed Smash. It has the back cover edited so that it only says "1994 LIMITED REISSUE" instead of "Black Label Records 1986" and where you can write to the band.
