Description
The Light Pours Out Of Me - Cut-Out Shapes - Magazine - Howard Devoto - US Promo - Vinyl in Nr mint condition. Comes in original paper sleeve.
A weird anomaly in the otherwise blunt precision that is Magazine’s discography – Weird and anomalous, weird and anomalous, weird and anomalous! “The Light Pours Out Of Me” – Martin Hannett’s 1980 electro clunking mantra version paired with “Cut-Out Shapes” the title track from Magazine’s magnum opus LP “Secondhand Daylight”. A strange confection, but like John Merrick both tracks overspill with the qualities that make us......………….what we are?
This US Promo turns at 33 and 1 third rpm - “Cut-Out Shapes” is aurally on a par with the Japanese pressing of “Secondhand Daylight”. “The Light Pours Out Of Me” sounds mightier here than it does on either “An Alternative Use Of Soap” or on its B/W home of “Upside Down”. Created or conceived, someone did right the day this piece of vinyl came into being.
