Description

First pressing of the Kinks first album in mono on the Pye label NPL 18096.  Matrices are stamped NN 1096-A1T, though it looks as if the A1T has been hand altered to 2T & NN 1096-B2T, again the 2 has been inserted by hand.
Sleeve
Garrod & Lofthouse patents pending sleeve.  No splits or tears.  No writing.  I would grade the sleeve as VG+.  It has 2 faults - there are 3 creases in the laminate(picture 4) and it appears to have a pin hole at the top(pictures 5 & 6).  Otherwise the sleeve is in really good condition for its 53 years.   The flipbacks are intact, the spine is fully legible & the four corners are square.  No edge wear, but very minor wear at the opening.
Record - visual
I would grade as Good+ lots of light marks & a few more noticeable marks.  The vinyl is still shiny. The labels are clean.
Record - audio
Surprisingly good.  There is light static on the run in & between tracks but the audio is loud & clear.  No distortion, no jumps, pops or clicks.  The record lies flat.  The static only intrudes on one track - "Bald Headed Woman" but does not overpower the music.  I would rate the audio as VG+  Very much a player not a looker!
Inner sleeve not original.
