I took in a small collection of psych records recently. Most are in very playable condition! Not Near Mint, however.  Visually graded only.  I’m currently without a turntable.  Check my other auctions, okay?

The James Gang Rides Again LP with PROMO 45 First Pressing with DELETED BOLERO, SCARCE!

One of the best rock debut albums I’ve ever heard.  Joe Walsh’s first band.

Hard-to-find first pressing with Ravel’s “Bolero” still included.  They were forced to remove it, due to legalities.  The track is listed on both the label AND the inside gatefold. 

All of this was removed on subsequent pressings.  (See compere photos.)

(“Ashes, the Rain and I” is certainly one of the best closers I’ve ever heard on a rock album.)

Vinyl--- EX/ EX.  SO close to NM!

Plates--- 1B/ 1B. Definitely first-run.

Cover--- Nice VG.  Structurally muscular strong, NO SPLITS.  Gatefold seam included.  The only issue is that the front and back covers have light to moderate dirtwear, which can probably be cleaned off. 

I just wasn’t going to do it, seeing how this is the rarer cover.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  “Scratches” are from ABC’s pressing plant.  They shortly switched from these glossy labels to flat labels to save costs, which eliminated the problem.

Inner Sleeve--- Original company royal blue ABC inner sleeve is present and in VG+ condition.  Would have easily been a NM inner sleeve, except for a bottom center seam split about 2 inches long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original ABC inner sleeve en route.

Sleeve:  Excellent.  Original ABC company sleeve is present, beautiful condition.

A generic white sleeve will be provided to protect your company sleeve during shipping.

Vinyl: NM/ NM. Would be store-stock new condition, except that this copy was never in the stores!

Labels: EX/ EX.  Just some minimal dirtwear.

Plates: Machine-stamped “MR” in a circle makes this promo pressed by Monarch Records.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
