Description

I am selling some duplicate LPs from my collection. Here is one of the “Holy Grails” in vinyl collecting. And please check my other auctions for items that may be of interest to you.

IN THIS AUCTION:

· “WAITING FOR THE SUN” by The Doors

· This LP Elektra EKL - 4024.

· It is a MONO (Monaural) LP with the brown Elektra labels.

· This LP was released July 11, 1968.

· It was The Doors first and only #1 LP.

· The LP in this auction is the VERY RARE MONAURAL PRESSING of The Doors’ LP “Waiting For The Sun”. While all of The Doors MONO pressings are rare and hard-to-find, “Waiting For The Sun” is the rarest.

· The LP has great cuts on it including “Hello, I Love You” and “Love Street” and “Unknown Soldier”. It is interesting that the song “Waiting For the Sun” was not on this LP. It came on the “Morrison Hotel” LP.

· The GATEFOLD COVER is in VERY STRONG VG CONDITION (Or some might rate it Weak VG+.) The cover has overall moderate wear. The name “Bill” is written lightly in blue ballpoint at top right on the front cover. There is a very small corner crease on the bottom right corner and light corner wear on all corners. There is some light to moderate wear on the top and bottom edges (more on the bottom) of the gatefold cover and NO SEAM SPLITS. The rear cover has light wear near the top above the second “o” in “doors”. There are also a few light stains on the bottom half of the front cover near the spine and just above the midpoint on the rear cover near the spine.

· The VINYL is in NICE VG CONDITION with LOTS OF GLOSS. There are some hairlines and scuffs on both sides.

· The LP comes with the correct Elektra tan/brown and white paper inner sleeve. The word “Doors” is written in ballpoint ink in the lower white area of the inner sleeve on both sides. The inner sleeve has a 3-inch split on the bottom at the center.

· This is a GREAT VERY RARE HARD-TO-FIND LP. It’s a “Must Have!” for any vintage vinyl collection.
