Description

This is the DCC audiophile reissue from 1998, remastered from the original master tapes by Steve Hoffman using all-tube equipment and pressed on 180g vinyl. I've owned this record from new and played it in the past, but it hasn't been played at all in the last 12 years.

Grade (sleeve first) using the Record Collector grading scheme, reproduced below: EX/EX.

The sleeve is free from creases/cuts and other obvious damage but has a few tiny imperfections - please see the photos and judge for yourself. The inner sleeve is in excellent condition having hardly been used because the record has been kept from new in a Nagaoka No. 102 anti-static sleeve.

There are a few faint silvery marks on the playing surfaces of this record. I'm not sure what they are but I suspect they are a result of long-term contact with the inner sleeve during the 12 years or so that this record has been stored unused. I've play tested this record from start to finish and these marks are not audible, at least on my record player (Rega P3/RB300/Elys) and at the moderate volume level I was listening at. There is some faint surface noise occasionally audible between tracks but I didn't notice any surface noise during the music itself - no scratches, clicks, or pops.

Record Collector grading scheme:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
