Led Zeppelin IV, that never got an official title, is one of the most artistically influential and commercially most successful albums in the history of Rock music. Released in November 1971, the album set new standards of the Rock sounds for a whole generation with worldwide famous titles like Stairway To Heaven, Rock And Roll, Black Dog and When The Levee Breaks. Led Zeppelin IV was recorded in 1999 in the Grammy Hall Of Fame and reached a total of 23 times platinum in the USA
As the previously released re-issues also Led Zeppelins "Led Zeppelin IV" was personally remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page, with the passion and brilliant skills he also devoted to the original analog tapes. The deluxe edition of Led Zeppelin IV shines with previously unreleased versions of all songs of the original album and contains alternative mixtures of Misty Mountain Hop and Four Sticks as well as mixtures of The Battle Of Evermore and Going To California, heavily equipped with mandolin and guitar. In addition: an alternative version of Stairway To Heaven, mixed in the Sunset Sound Studio in Los Angeles, presenting one of the biggest song of Rock history in a previous unheard dimension.

Encompassing heavy metal, folk, pure rock & roll, and blues, Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album is a monolithic record, defining not only Led Zeppelin but the sound and style of '70s hard rock. Expanding on the breakthroughs of III, Zeppelin fuse their majestic hard rock with a mystical, rural English folk that gives the record epic scope. Even at its most basic -- the muscular, tradtionalist "Rock and Roll" -- the album has a grand sense of drama, which is deepened by Robert Plant's burgeoning obsession with mythology and mysticism. These obsessions come to a head on the eerie folk ballad "The Battle of Evermore," a mandolin-driven song with haunting vocals from Sandy Denny, and on the epic "Stairway to Heaven," which encapsulates the entire album in one song. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Encompassing heavy metal, folk, pure rock & roll, and blues, Led Zeppelin's untitled fourth album is a monolithic record, defining not only Led Zeppelin but the sound and style of '70s hard rock. Expanding on the breakthroughs of III, Zeppelin fuse their majestic hard rock with a mystical, rural English folk that gives the record epic scope. Even at its most basic -- the muscular, tradtionalist "Rock and Roll" -- the album has a grand sense of drama, which is deepened by Robert Plant's burgeoning obsession with mythology and mysticism.
