(Please read entire add, thank you and have a nice day.)...............PANVOX 10102, Cover is vg+, record is vg, has scuffs, tested it in part, some light noise in spots, this is listed as Garage Rock, but its lightweight sixties teen music. The title is the CHARMS..........
Many equate the Greek pop-rock scene of the 60's with band that performed light, insipid, and frequently silly songs. But how many have ever heard about the other side of this scene: bands that recorded some pure garage rock cuts during the three-year period between 1965 and 1967? Here we present seven short-lived bands, each of which existed for 2-3 years and made very few recordings. Nevertheless, those recordings constituted the first efforts of several musicians who are still, even today, writing "hit" songs. First of all we find the Persons from Piraeus (essentially a suburb of the city of Athens and the biggest Greek port - the Translator). This band -- an early incarnation of the legendary Socrates Drank The Conium -- put out 3 singles overall and consisted of the following members: John Spathas, Antonis Tourkogiorgis, Ilias Asvestopoulos, Ilias Boukouvalas, and Antonis Pitsolantis. It is not accidental that songs from their first single open both sides of this record; in our personal opinion this is the best (Greek) single of the sixties: a pair of genuine garage "diamonds"! . . . . . . . . . . . . .
