Eleven of the albums have never been played and are considered NEW. Three of the albums in this box set were played once, so they are MINT. Unfortunately, I can't tell you which three were played.  I'm sure when they are closely examined, it might be apparent - or not. I randomly pulled 5 disks partially out of their protective sleeves and the vinyl looked virgin. This set was owned by my best friend so I am the second owner. The clasp on the box is broken so the doors won't stay shut. The outside box is in average condition which isn't bad for 30 years. The inner booklet has a small tear front, lower left.

The Beatles: The Collection is a vinyl box set of every Beatles album remastered at half speed from the original stereo master recordings, except for Magical Mystery Tour which was mastered from Capital Record's sub-masters with the last three tracks in re-channeled stereo

Released with much anticipation in early October 1982, The Collection was lauded by critics and Beatles fans worldwide for the superb sound, and sold-out completely within the first year. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) pressed a second run of the Beatles Box Set for a total production run of 25,000 over the next two years or until October 1985. Today, The Collection can fetch more than $7,000 for a mint condition set in online auctions.

Each album was pressed on PURE VIRGIN NEW black vinyl by the Victor Company of Japan ensuring superior sound quality.  EACH DISC IS SO PURE THAT WHEN PLACED IN FRONT OF A LIGHT IT BECOMES ALMOST TRANSPARENT. The album covers were replaced with photographs of tape boxes and log sheet. The original album covers were included in a booklet which also featured a certificate of authenticity as this was a limited edition collection. Missing from this collection were all of the Beatles' singles, extended play and a few miscellaneous tracks that did not appear on their original UK albums.
