Description
This listing is for a Beatles box set called 'The Collection' which was released in 1982.
Produced by MOFI, Mobile Fidelity, from the original master recordings, this box set contains 14 albums, a 'GEODISC' alignment tool and the numbered picture booklet, number 1080 .
There is good and bad to this box set;
-The good - The actual vinyl is in excellent condition, of the 14 LPs I would say 12 of them are mint or near mint and 2 of them would be considered very good with a couple light surface scratches that would play through fine without noise. All 14 LPs were cleaned on a Clearaudio Double Matrix record cleaning machine just before these pictures were taken.
-The bad - the set has moisture damage, the outer and inner cardboard sleeves show signs of moisture damage where the cardboard becomes a bit wavery and also there is actual water marks on a few of them. Some of cardboard sleeves also have tearing where they were likely stuck to one of the other outer sleeves.
-The booklet has the same wavey pages from high humidity and a lot of the pages were stuck together where you can see tearing when the pages were separated after everything was dry. The Geodisc is in excellent shape as it is made from plastic.
-The case is rough as it has the moisture damage as well as corners dinged and small tears in the black covering.
Once again the actual vinyl LPs and their plastic sleeves are in excellent condition.
