Description

First, the vinyl looks VG+ with some visible marks. HOWEVER, I play tested the entire LP and it plays Near Mint/ Mint! There is silence in the grooves between every cut and in the lead-in grooves. I was amazed!
Second, this is a special copy of the LP that was available only through the Capitol Record Club back in the '60's. There were actually TWO different Capitol Record issues for this and other Beatles LP's. The first was issued in 1969 on a black Capitol label with rainbow, similar to standard Capitol LP's of the 1960's. The second issue of Capitol Record Club LP's were issued in 1970- 1971 and had green Capitol labels.
In both cases, since they were special issues, Capitol gave them special record numbers. For example, standard "Revolver" LP's (stereo) had a record number of ST- 2576. The Capitol Record Club issues had record numbers of ST-8- 2576. This record number is on both the record and on the cover. The covers were also special in that they had three black stripes on the upper left edge. The cover of this copy is in nice condition with no seam splits and just some slight wear.

So, this copy is the FIRST Capitol Record Club issue on the black Capitol label from 1969. As I said, the vinyl looks VG+. You will see marks. But again, I actually play tested the vinyl and it plays Near Mint/ Mint! If you look at the images, you can see the special record numbers on the label and on the cover. You will also see the special three stripes on the cover top.

Since these LP's were issued only through the record club and in smaller numbers than the regular issue, they are much rarer than the standard issues. Of course, the black label issues are even rarer than the green label issues since they were issued earlier. The Cox/ Daniels Beatles price guide lists this copy as worth $450.00 in Mint condition and $115.00 in VG condition. I arrived at the $34.95 price based on those prices.
