The Beatles Rarities Japan press
Odeon EAS 63010 - part of Japan's "Country Flag" obi / EAS re-issue series of the Beatles Japanese LP catalogue. Issue n° 34 in the series, with UK flag obi. Released in October 1979.

Intro: Beatles ‘Rarities’ was originally released as part of The Beatles Collection, a boxed set featuring the twelve original Beatles studio albums, but was later issued individually. It was conceived to include lesser-known songs not included on any other original Beatles album – these included B-sides, two German-language recordings and tracks from an EP etc.
Summary: Stunning vinyl and crisp clear clean audio, as expected from a Japanese pressing. Includes Japanese Bio sheet, lyric sheet and Obi (full set) all so often missing. Sleeve in VG+/EX- condition – small creases, extremely small corner rub only. Lovely copy – you won’t be disappointed.

Sleeve: Matt navy blue sleeve. All edges true, no rips or splits. Some light age-related creasing which shows up on this sleeve, graded strong VG+ / EX- (see photos)
Comes with Japanese/English bio-lyric sheet insert, plus 2-sided track by track annotation sheet in English (couple of small stains) see photos.
Labels: Classic black with silver print Odeon labels. Extremely light play. Clean, graded M-
Vinyl: Retains its original gloss, lovely copy graded M-/ EX+ - see photos.
Audio. Stunning crisp, clean audio – as expected from a Japanese pressing So no pips, pops, skips, sticks, jumps or dust crackle played on a Project carbon - blue 2M Ortofon) – audio graded EX+/ NM or M-.
I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description, the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I am a collector of 47+ years, selling a few to fund my ever-changing music habits. The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.
I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
