In this auction:


  • “RARITIES” LP by the Beatles.

  • This LP is Capitol Records SHAL - 12060.

  • It is a STEREO Pressing.

  • This LP was originally issued March 24, 1980, but the LP in this auction was issued in 1985. We know this because:

    • It has the corrected linear notes on the rear cover.

    • There are no raised embossed photos on the front and rear cover (the original issue has both).

    • It has the “Produced By George Martin” credit printed on the rear cover (the original does not).

  • According to Perry Cox, this is the THIRD and LAST ISSUE of The Beatles U.S. “RARITIES” LP, and THESE 3RD ISSUE COVERS ARE MUCH SCARCER THAN THE ORIGINAL!

  • The vinyl has custom black rainbow labels mimicking the classic Capitol mid-1960s labels.

  • It has a GATEFOLD COVER with the UN-CROPPED BUTCHER PHOTO inside.

  • The COVER is in NEAR MINT CONDITION and still in its ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP.

  • It also has the UNCOMMON STICKER on the shrink wrap that measures 2 ¼ inches x 2 ¼ inches and promotes the “BUTCHER SHOT” and “RARE PHOTOS”.

  • This LP was also issued with a CUSTOM PHOTO INNER SLEEVE which is included. It has a 2-inch split on one of the side seams.

  • The VINYL is also in NEAR MINT CONDITION.

  • Also included is an 11-inch x 11-inch advertisement insert and order form for “THE COMPLEAT BEATLES” 2-volume book set that came inside this LP.
