Description
The Beatles 'Rubber Soul' Parlophone Scarce UK Mono 2nd pressing with GROOVED label to Side One.
On offer here is something which is often mistaken for a CBS contract pressing, however infact it is an EMI pressing using older pre 1964 pressing moulds, at some stage for whatever reason EMI began producing during 1965 copies of Rubber Soul using older pressing moulds which beared a distinctive 'groove' to the label which is far more commonly seen in pre 1964 EMI pressings (some black and gold ppm copies have this). Either way these copies of Rubber Soul (and some are known to exist in Revolver) are considerably rarer and difficult to locate than the standard label format!

Matrix Numbers: XEX 579-4/ XEX 580-4
Condition:
Outer Sleeve: A solid clean example with some light-general age wear showing this one is name/sticker free with flipbacks looking very clean and firmly intact. Some corner wear showing to the top right front. A grading of Very Good.
Side One/ Side Two: Showing a lot of bag rash to both sides however it must be stressed that this is completly caused only by sleeve removal. NOT heavy sounding markings. Infact the play to this lp is considerably better than the visual with relatively clear mono sound and quiet run ins. Visual- Good, Play- Very Good.
Labels: Nice however with average amount of spindle trail markings to both sides. Excellent.
