 RARE BLACK LABEL THE BEATLES - INTRODUCING THE BEATLES VEE-JAY VJLP 1062 MONO 1964 MONARCH PRESSING This version is the Monarch pressing variation and can be identified by the pressing plant information found in the runout grooves, by the design of the labels, and by the back cover. Identifying Characteristics:
- Labels: all black, with silver 'VJ' caption and lettering.
- Back cover: includes "Please, Please Me" (with comma) and "Ask Me Why"
THE VINYL IS A VG+ WITH HAIRLINES AND NORMAL THIN SCRATCHES - NO DEEP FELT SCRATCHES -ON PLAYING THE DYNAMICS ARE VERY GOOD WITH LIGHT SURFACE NOISE IN PLACES - A NICE RECORD
THE JACKET IS IN VG++ SHAPE WITH A 2" SPLIT ON THE BOTTOM (EASY FIX) - LIGHT RINGWEAR - NO LABELS - SMALL NAME WRITING ON BACK

Most records have production marks where someone touched or moved the vinyl while it was still semi-soft.  These marks look like smudges, but are not scratches or "paper scuffs" and do not usually sound.  Untouched vinyl from newly-opened records have these marks.

How I Grade Condition Of Discs

Mint

This means I have owned it from new or purchased from a distributors warehouse, basically it means absolutely new shape, never been played or out of its dust cover. In the case of LP's, a North American album will have to be factory sealed (anyone can reseal an album!) Take Note: European and Japaneses albums were never shrink wrapped!

Note: Being mint does not guarantee it's free of pops and clicks, many pressings especially from the US were made with very poor vinyl and in a hurry which means often there are imperfections in the pressing. As a former importer, we were often given back brand new albums due to clicks heard in the playback.

Near Mint - Looks rarely played, very shiny with no visible marks

Excellent to Excellent Plus - A disc is super clean, with only very light visible marks that do not hamper play

Excellent minus is a disc that is excellent except it may have some markings that do not show up in the playing

VG - A disc that is STILL in good shape, WILL have some scuffs or scratches, not in excellent shape but well worth owning. VG + and ++,a disc that is that much better than VG.
