THE BEATLES - 'HELP!'
By the time this pressing reached the shops in summer 1969, this album must have seemed like ancient history.
Pressed in a single tiny batch, just before the change to the '1-EMI' box label, this pressing sold only a handful of copies.
In fact, all copies of this pressing we have handled over the years have ALL had the same stamper codes.*
This ultra-rare edition was the final 1960's pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1255
Due to the abolition of retail price maintenance on records, both labels omit the 'Sold in UK...' text.
Matrices: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2
*Stamper codes: 9/ATM & 1,8/ATA
Vinyl weight: 142g
Housed in the correct thin card stock, front laminated, tri-flipback, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with original EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
Both are clean & bright with some spindle trails around each unworn centre holes and a couple of light scratches on label 1.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Really clean, deep-gloss playing surfaces with no noticeable surface marks in strong daylight and only a few harmless wispy paper-type hairlines beneath halogen light.
Audio: EXCELLENT
Played with care on good equipment, the sound quality throughout is clean & clear. Our play-check detected just a touch of wear on the introduction to 'Ticket to Ride', but no other audible issues.
Cover: VERY GOOD
Fully intact with moderate handling & storagewear but no major faults.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD
Small section of one corner cut out.
