Description

An original 1st/2nd issue German Export copy of BEATLES GREATEST on the White Odeon label. Matrix  A/B 1X/1X. First thing is that the LP's label conforms to the 1st issue catalogue number 'SMO83991' and the export number 'ZTOX5600' is also present. But we suspect this copy dates from early-66 as they were in the process of shifting to 2nd issue credentials. Please note the heavy vinyl comes housed in a technical 2nd issue cover cataloge number 'SMO73991'. Also included is the original advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light to moderate marks - one is just feelable. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is relatively minor and infrequent. All we could detect was a few crackles in the odd isolated moment e.g. the first half of 'I Should Have Known Better' & there's a click in the final 5 secs of 'Postman' right at the end of side 1. Other than that we're talking a very nice rendition of this very hard to find export copy.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and has clearly been looking after down the years. Nice shiny front cover and exhibits only a couple of light creases. The rear is in fine form too just showing some ageing creeping in particularly on the right hand side. Edge wear is reasonably light and the text on the spine is still reasonably legible. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity.
Inner (Ex) No splits. Minimal ageing.
