Description
Here is "Revolver" by The Beatles. This is mostly likely a contract pressing on the Capitol label, Stereo ST-2576
I say most likely a contract pressing because the words "Audio Matrix" are located in the dead wax. Also, the pressing ring is the correct distance from the spindle hole (1 1/4") which would indicate a contract issue.
However, in Bruce Spizer's book, "Capitol Albums Part 2" he documents a Mono copy of "Revolver" with the same attributes as the one offered here, but cannot name the particular plant that pressed the "Audio Matrix" examples!
He states. "This mystery plant also pressed Mono copies of "Something New", "The Early Beatles" and possibly more."
I have recently become aware of a second "Revolver" Stereo Audio Matrix example for sale at three figures. The pressing plant remains unknown.
