Original pre-release United Artists promotional release of The Beatles “A Hard Day’s Night (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)” released on July 10th, 1964. This promotional issue was pressed and shipped to radio stations and media representatives several months before the album’s official release date. 1st misprint cover with original “D.J. Samples Promotional Copies” sticker at the bottom left corner on the front and 3-line publishing credits at the top right corner on the back with the "Only This Boy" track credited to Maclen Music alone. The back cover contains a misprint, also present on the Side 1 label, indicating the “I’ll Cry Instead” track as “I Cry Instead”. Original pre-release “Made in U.S.A.” United Artists misprint white promotional label with the “Not For Sale” banner, “UAL-3366” catalog number and “New York 19, N.Y.” address. The currently listed promotional copy of “A Hard Day’s Night” represents the only Beatles issue with the promo white labels. The vinyl of this promotional issue was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Hollywood containing the 1st -1A / -1B matrix numbers as well as the “o” stamp, the identifier of Customatrix, a subsidiary of Columbia. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - o UAL 3366A-1AB A I I; Side 2 - o UAL 3366B-1AE B. This promotional album comes with the original United Artists “The Proudest Name in Entertainment” inner sleeve.

The 1st print cover of this promotional issue is graded as somewhere between Excellent Plus and Near Mint Minus. It doesn't have any splits, wear, residue, ring wear, tears or missing pieces. The corners have some very light scuffing. There're a few light factory creases along the spine on the front cover as well as some very light age discoloration along the mouth of the back cover. The vinyl is graded as Very Good Plus visually with its sound being Excellent. It retains its beautiful factory lacquer only having some very light non-feelable surface marks as well as scuffs from the original United Artists inner sleeve which is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits or tears. Side 2 has a one inch mark on the last two tracks that can slightly be felt with a finger nail but it doesn't affect the playback in any way. The snow white labels are in beautiful Near Mint Minus condition. The vinyl plays amazing only having some very light occasional static which can be heard only during the quiet passages and most likely, will go away if the record was professionally cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine.
