In the bizarre world of record collecting, the first issue of this iconic album with its 1/1 endings has taken on  legendary status, even though it is well known for its imbalanced 'loud cut' mix and is far more common than any  subsequent issue. This 4/4 variant offers a much better overall balance, notably from the toned down bass guitar. So here is an opportunity to own a fantastic disc that delivers perfect sound quality, and is in beautiful condition.           ================================================================

THE DISC
Matrix: Side One: XEX 579-4 Stamper: 11-AMG  Side Two: XEX 580-4 Stamper: 4-ADD
AUDIO - NEAR MINT
Plays like a new disc. Crystal clear, undiminished sound quality. Near silent run-ins. Just amazing.
VISUALLY - NEAR MINT
Spectacular looking vinyl surfaces. I cannot see any marks or lines on either side, even against reflected light. There are just a few wispy handling lines but this is being ultra fussy. The surfaces have retained all of their 'shop fresh' gloss. If it wasn't for the spindle trails you could easily assume that the disc was unplayed. Apart from these trails, the labels are also 'shop fresh'. The disc has been handled with great care and has obviously been played on top equipment. Of course there will be the inevitable ultra-light surface lines, only really visible under a searchlight, which all vinyl seems to attract.

THE COVER - EX
Printed by Ernest J Day, this example is in excellent condition. The front panel does have the usual mild perimeter wrinkles and there are some crescent impressions near to the open edge. The spine is absolutely 'mint' and the corners are nice and square. The unprotected back panel has age toned but is in perfect condition. The tri-flips are near perfect. The opening edges are arrow straight. It would be hard to find a better original issue.

THE INNER SLEEVE - EX
This is the correct 'Made In England' rice paper lined inner. Perfect condition apart from age toning and some creasing.

The photos are of the actual item. I always use professional, anti-static, cleaning fluid and listen to the whole disc. Professional mailers are always used.
