Strauss Family

Eine Straussfest Telarc DG-10098 This is one of the most sought-after of audiophile label Telarc’s digital LPs. Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra perform waltzes, marches, and polkas by the Strauss dynasty. Jacket includes a note: “Warning! Digital Sound Effects”.  You’ll hear pistols being fired, champagne corks popping, and real thunderclaps. The pieces are:

Recorded in June 1984 on the Soundstream digital tape recorder. Disc pressed in Germany with Direct Metal Mastering. The jacket is in Excellent Minus condition with a small ½” seam split on the left. The disc is in Excellent Minus condition. It has a very small scratch at the 6:00 position at the beginning of Side 1 and some light scuffs that have been seen under close examination. I don't have a turntable any more, so I can't play grade it. There are no spindle marks on the label.
