TOURNIQUET - S/T 1978 RPC, CUSTOM LABEL, MEGA-RARE PROG PSYCH

From 1978, out of New Jersey, comes the psych band Tourniquet with their self titled album on RPC custom press label. Insanely rare original of this excellent prog psych thirteen track album! The group consists of two members who play electric, lead and rhythm guitars, drums,bass, acoustic guitar, arp omni, and arp odyssey. They have two of their friends helping them out on two of the cuts. Rare beyond belief, this was issued in micro quantities (50-100). The front cover is a plain generic picture of clouds which was used on the Daybreak album with the word "TOUNIQUET" in red marker written on it and a plain white back cover, with the players names and instruments, producer, and phone numbers also written in red marker. The cover has some discoloration and some marks and light ring wear and a 3" split along the bottom seam. Check the pictures. The Vinyl is in VG+ with some paper scuffs and light hairline marks. Great use of fuzz!  This record is just unbelievably good! It has a dark sardonic humor about relationships. Probably recorded in a basement studio and engineered and mixed so that instrumentation is out front and the vocals at times are murky and hard to understand, but that just makes it more interesting! This album is briefly mentioned in the Acid Archives,2nd Edition where it was described inaccurately by an anonymous reviewer! It has quality and inventiveness about these life problems-isn't that what psych is all about? A SUPERB example of local prog psych!! Extremely doubtful that you'll come across another copy! All records of interest on RPC can be counted on one hand and this is no exception!
