Description
Her Very First Record, this most covetable “Holy Grail” of all Tori Amos extremely rare earliest collectibles is an important and treasured part of rock music history. This Genuine Original 7-Inch Vinyl 45rpm Demo Record was produced by the now famous Multiple Grammy-Nominated Singer, Songwriter and Musician under the MEA Records label in 1980, when the prodigious Tori (then known as Ellen) was only 17 years old. “MEA” is an acronym for Tori‘s birth name, Myra Ellen Amos.
Professionally inspected and graded "ABSOLUTE MINT CONDITION” by a reputable independent music dealer, this historic and extremely rare debut demo was given to the seller by Tori herself in 1981 out of friendship and for promotional purposes. Protected and cared for by that friend for more than a quarter-century, the record has NEVER BEEN PLAYED, and remains in its original plain white paper sleeve. It retains its original flawless black sheen and orange identifying label.
- A-Side: MEA 5290A "BALTIMORE" sung by “Ellen” Amos and written by the singer and her brother, Michael.
- B-Side: MEA 5290B "WALKING WITH YOU" written and performed by “Ellen” Amos.
“BALTIMORE” was initially selected from competing entries by the namesake city as a promotional theme for Baltimore, Maryland and the Orioles baseball franchise. A limited number of the self-pressed demo records were then used by Tori to help to eventually launch her legendary music career, which continues to inspire an incredible throng of the most astoundingly loyal fans and devotees in contemporary music history.
BONUS: Winning bidder also receives a rare copy of TORI’S 1981 RESUME, originally presented to the record’s owner in that year, also for promotional purposes.
NOTE: Seller is compelled to part with this treasured personal keepsake at this time due to medical disability and mounting expenses. Please see his Ebay Member Profile for background and additional details of the fascinating provenance of this particular record.
