ORIGINAL 1968 first pressing of the very first SLY & THE FAMILY STONE, a movin' grooovin' hip sound that put the SF Sound group on the map and the masses on their feet ...harder to find than you think in decent condition...(see details below song titles)
DANCE TO THE MUSIC's title track was a joyous, stomping anthem, brilliantly arranged, and their first hit single ... its highs are intense, prolonged, ecstatic. Earthy bass and drums put a spring in your step while seductive melodies and horn lines tickle your mind...
No group epitomized the turbulent social upheaval of the late '60s more than Sly & The Family Stone. This gender-integrated, multi-ethnic band was led by 23-year-old Sly Stone (aka Sylvester Stewart), a former DJ/producer. On DANCE TO THE MUSIC, whose title track became a Top Ten hit, the group utilized heaping amounts of arrangements, fuzz guitar, and bottom-heavy bass for a form of hip garaged-out rock&soul that influenced contemporaries like Miles Davis .

The vinyl all clean VG++ to "EX" (excellent) and actually there is very little to report as both sides are clean and clear, looks to be handled carefully. Plays great.
