TOMMY JOHNSON Cool Drink Of Water Blues & Big Road Blues Rare 78 RPM Album
TOMMY JOHNSON "Cool Drink Of Water Blues/Big Road Blues" on VICTOR 21279-A(side 1)/B(side 2) in V to V+(side 1) and V to V+(side 2) condition (see grading descriptions below). Moderate wear and surface noise (V grading) is present at the top third section of side A at 0 to 85 seconds run time and a mild to moderate surface noise at 0 to 55 seconds run time from side B but then both reduce to lightly mild surface noise neither which affect the vocals or guitars sound. Lighter wear on the remaining two thirds (V+ grading) along with a few scratches (No chips or digs) on each side of album. See attached photos and hover to view details from each side of the album. Plays all the way through very well on both sides with no skips or pops. Both inlay labels are entirely visible with an extremely light scuff on each side and grade in E+ condition (see below).
Play and Visual Grading:
(V : Moderate even wear throughout, but still very playable. Surface noise and scratches audible but not intrusive)(V+ : Wear is moderate but playing is generally free from distortion. Surface noise not overly pronounced)
Inlay Label Grading:(E+ : Slight scuff(s))
I play graded this 78 record using the VJM grading system (N, N-, E+, E, E-, V+, V, V-, G+, G, G-, F, and P) so I believe my rating to be accurate. Please contact me with any questions.
At your request, I would be able to send you an audio sound recording by email or a video recording by text (due to large file size) of each side played on my personal Columbia 524 model late-50's phonograph.
I have been collecting blues/country/folk/jazz/polka/rock & roll/soul for over 30 years so you can bid with confidence.
Your bidding on a truly great and unique double sided record that's a pretty rare piece from the highly influential delta blues history. Best of luck!
