Description

Massively Rare Original 1970 U.S. Stereo PROMO 1st Pressing 'Lorca' by Tim Buckley!!! - This is The U.S. Electra Promotional only White Label 1st Stereo Pressing of this All Time Classic Folk Album!!! Complete With Original U.S. Thick Card Sleeve w/ Promotional Sticker and Original Electra Picture Inner Sleeve!!! The Mega Rare U.S. Promo Only White Label 1st Pressing of 'Lorca' -The ONLY way to own this Seminal Record!!!!

Where do I start!!! I think you all no how rare this record is!!! One of the most cherished U.S. folk records of the 1960's & 70's - A classic in it's own right but increasingly sought after since the brief but brilliant career of Tim's son, Jeff  Buckley increased interest in Tim's own work from a much younger generation. However, what makes this record so special is that it is the 1970 U.S. Promotional Only White label pressing which was only sent to radio stations in the USA back in 1970 and never available for retail!!! What's more, it comes complete with the original 'Promotional Only' stickered sleeve and original Electra colour inner sleeve!!! A mega rare record and absoloutly essential for any Tim/Jeff Buckley fan!!

Side 2: EKS 74074 - B

The Classic white PROMO ONLY Electra Labels are in stunning condition with NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind, they have virtually NO traces of spindle wear, and have no nasty fading or yellowing. There is just the faintest trace or discolouration on the side 1 label, but it is virtually invisible and you have to really scrutinise the label to even make it out. Please see the image of the side 1 label below, I think you'll agree, it is almost invisible. Most original U.S. copies of this record were played to death in the 1970's and only turn up today full of scratches with a dull sheen and totally worn out. This one is NOT and the record stills retains a beautiful sheen, and although not perfect it has survived remarkably well and is certainly one of the better examples of a U.S. pressed Lorca that I have seen!!! The record does have a few lines, and a few light surface marks - but plays remarkably well!!!! The record still retains ALL its original gloss and shine and has NO dulling and NO nasty greying of the grooves!!! ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!! It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with only a VERY few isolated pops (barely ANY), NO jumping, and NO skips!!! There is some VERY minor background noise in a VERY few places - though this is NOT crackle and it certainly CANNOT be heard over the music!!! However I WILL NOT fall into the trap of over-grading to compensate for rarity and age and the record must PROPERLY grade visually Very Good+!!!! Believe me this record is NOT over-graded in ANY way!!!

The classic Silver/White U.S. sleeve, is one of my favourites of the 1970's. However, what makes this particular sleeve so rare is that it still has its original Electra Promotional Copy' test sticker on the reverse side!!! The sticker has NO peeling and is still firmly attached to the reverse side (see image) all that reveals its real age is just some very light colour fade, and that's it!!! This sticker would have been stuck to the sleeve when the disc was sent to radio stations back in 1970 for advance plays!!! I cannot stress how cool this sleeve looks and feels up close!!! It is in great condition with NO Tears, NO seam splits or Seam Wear (very rare for this sleeve), NO feathering of the opening edge, NO Scribbles and NO unwanted writing of any kind!!! The sleeve lies perfectly FLAT. For a U.S. sleeve (very hard U.S. card stock, paste-over slick and no lamination) it is superb!!! The front and back slicks and spine are MINT with MINT legible spine text!!! As I mentioned earlier, the amazing thing about this sleeve is that it has virtually NO SEAM OR RING WEAR!!!! This is HUGELY RARE for this U.S. sleeve!!! There is of course, some unavoidable grubbyness to the white, probably from storage at the Radio Station. It just gives the sleeve an off white colour in places, but this really is the only fault I can find with this sleeve, and is all that stops me giving it an excellent+ grading, like I said, all the important aspects of this U.S. sleeve are fine, and it suffers none of the common problems with US sleeves!!! This sleeve easily grades as Very Good+ at the very least!!!

As mentioned above, this record comes with its mega rare original black/brown 'Big E' Electra picture inner sleeve which is is Stunning condition with NO seam splitting and NO unwanted scribbles/writing or stains!!!

Overall a massively rare pressing of Tim's fifth album proper. You will not find a rarer Tim Buckley record so don't miss this one as there are only a handful of these records left anywhere in the world - please don't hesitate with any questions you nay have - good luck!!!

Being the responsible adults you are, it is entirely up to you to take this up  - we strongly advise you to do this but will not hassle you about it. You either add the required insurance or you don't. If you do add the required insurance and your record is lost/damaged, you will get a refund. Refunds & Feedback ... Please read this carefully ... We try to give you the best quality examples of rare records available. However, there will always be somebody out there whose expectations far exceed UK record collector grading standards.  If you are in anyway unsatisfied with your record or our grading of it please refer to the UK Record Collector Grading Chart very carefully BEFORE emailing us. We strictly adhere to it and will only offer refunds (minus the postage AND our eBay costs) if we are satisfied that we have fallen below UK record collector grading standards. This will very rarely, if ever, happen. We will not be impressed with buyers disputing our gradings without even bothering to check the UK record collector grading standards chart first - you have been warned ...

Buyers who continually Haggle, Whine and Moan to try to decrease the price they won their auctions for will be blocked from bidding on future auctions and can toodle off down to HMV or Virgin where they can harass the counter staff there.

We will always leave feedback upon receipt of feedback. In an ideal world we would like to leave feedback as soon as the record has been shipped but due to feedback blackmail in the past (i,e, ",,,I want a partial refund or I will leave negative feedback") we have opted to take this measure. Contact must be made within 3 days of winning the auction. If payment has not been received after 10 days a non paying bidder alert will be placed. If payment is then not received within 7 days Negative feedback WILL be left and the buyer WILL be given a strike by eBay. Thanks for reading.
