Description

TICKAWINDA - ROSEMARY LANE

A truly superb condition copy of this 1979 UK 1st press folk holy grail, with band autographs and barely played

Original 1979 UK PENNINE 1st press
Label number : STEREO PSS 153LP

Matrix numbers : PSS - 153  - LP - A-1  /  PSS - 153  - LP - B-1  (all etched)
Stamper codes :  "E.G.." etched in the run-off on each side
A truly superb condition copy : both sides of the vinyl gleam with the original jet black lacquered sheen and even with close scrutiny under a bright light it is difficult to identify any faults at all...perhaps just a couple of the wispiest of wispy hairlines on the side 2 dead wax area but that's it. I get very nervous about grading any non-sealed record as "near mint" but this is very close...certainly an EX++ at least...clearly this record has been played only a few times.   Each label is in great shape - again, difficult to fault. The side 1 label is pristine with no marks whatsoever, the side 2 label is the same except for just three small and extremely light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole.  The non-laminated sleeve outer sleeve remains in EX+ condition - the sleeve is lightly textured and extremely fragile so what a joy to find this sleeve in such impressive condition : all edges remain firm with no scuffing, no corner rubbing, no creasing, no edge fraying, the spine remains in a totally intact and rigid state, and all artwork and text remains completely unblemished. There is just the merest hint of some non-obvious ring wear on each side but this really is negligible, and at the bottom right of the front side a very light 3cm horizontal line mark (possibly removable) but, again, this is very trivial. On the reverse side are the signatures of three of the original band members which serve as the ultimate authentication of this folk gem.  The audio quality is simply stunning with no skips, jumps, repeats, clicks, interference or background crackle - crystal clear vocals and musicianship with great tone and clarity throughout. And the music itself is nothing short of a delight.  Comes with perfect condition plain white poly-lined inner sleeve.
Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played and looked after with the loving care and attention that it deserves, and long may that continue...

POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £8 using Royal Mail Special Delivery ;

for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £21 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

Note that for Italy I now use a courier (either Parcelforce or UPS) for shipping purposes, for a flat fee of £17 (that includes tracking and signature)

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 52 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
