SIDE 1 VG(+) WITH SOME VERY FAINT MARKS IN BRIGHT LIGHT SIDE 2 CLEAN...EX-...BB HOLE...OVERALL A DECENT KEEPER...PLAYS WITHS SOME LIGHT BACKGROUND...JACKET EX-...ROULETTE SR 42038 A Minneapolis band whose album transgresses psychedelia and progressivism. It's now becoming a minor collectable and is harder to find. The medley on Side Two is full of variety and interest but the highlights are the opening cut, Head Embers, which has lots of good guitar work and the mildly psychedelic, At The Top Of The Stairs. There are a few awful tracks, but there are lots of ideas on this album and if you're into psychedelic guitar and keyboards this is one for you.
The band evolved out of The Good Idea. When that band had split in 1969, John Miesen landed a deal with Roulette on the basis of an unreleased The Good Idea track, 12:25, which was used for one side of the Thundertree album. GRADING CVR/DISC
NEAR MINT- (NM-): A nearly perfect record. No obvious sign of wear. Looks as if you just got it home from a new record store and removed the shrink wrap. Faintest, tiniest wisp of a hint of a suggestion of whiff of a sleeve mark allowable.

EXCELLENT: (EX): A superior record with no more than a wisp of a hairline, faint shadowing, or a superficial needle drag. None of these defects are glaring, and certainly do not affect play.
VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+): Played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have light scuffs or very light scratches that might slightly affect, but do not overpower, one’s listening experience. Very slight warps that do not affect play are OK.
VERY GOOD (VG): Many of the defects found in a VG+ record are more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise is evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during the song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
