'BELFAST GYPSIES'
UK LP on SONET RECORDS GP-9923 from 1967 in STEREO
Perhaps the foremost Garage band of the 1960's, through all their incarnations, THEM started out in Ireland playing showband material and raw R 'n B in the early part of the decade, led by the enigmatic VAN MORRISON. When he left to pursue a well-documented and more spiritual-folk-blues solo career, they carried on making some really excellent sounds, and issued more albums. These actually got more attention abroad, so Britain lost-out due to lack of record-company interest. In the US, a couple of LP's followed, and are now highly sought-after too - but even those are more often seen than this monster rarity.
Issued in Sweden, I don't know if there was any other release edition country - so however many pressed and sold there - that's IT, for this one!
Now, Kim Fowley has his own cult following of collectors, and deservedly so in my opinion - but for a really tough and raw mod attitude and 'serrated-edge' sound, this is hard to better.
And in this case - so is the condition!
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades NEAR MINT!
FULL shine and TOP playing quality - this looks unplayed
The lables are MINT, NO spindle marks whatsoever.
The FULLY LAMINATED card COVER sleeve is NEAR MINT.
Perhaps kept stored preserved in a warehouse from new? A super-collectible LP, and a top copy of this historic album.
