THE WHO - MY GENERATION. 1965 MONO LAT 8616. BRUNSWICK.

Here's an original first pressing of The Who's first album, "My Generation". It's the earliest possible pressing, complete with the stampers "MG 10256 1B / MG 10257 1B" in the run off grooves. Later copies had the stampers "2B / 1B" and "2B / 2B". Also, it comes in it's original "pinched spine" Robert Stace clarifoil sleeve, complete with the original printed inner sleeve bearing the British Patent Number. Here's the gradings.

FRONT SLEEVE. The laminated front sleeve is clean, with some faint creasing. Small nick on the opening edge, and as shown in the photo, there is a very small tear where the Brunswick logo is. If you look at the back of the sleeve, you can see a slight "dimple". My guess is that a previous owner had a drawing pin through it. It's very minor, but I have to mention it. Bear in mind that I took the pictures with a 12 MP camera, far more critical than the human eye. The rest of the sleeve is fine, the spine is solid with all printing visible. Top and bottom edges solid, faintest of corner ding's. Opening edge is flat.

REAR SLEEVE The unlaminated rear has just a few age spots, as shown on the photos. A faint patch of ring wear, and the dimple I mentioned above. Overall it's a very good example of this very difficult to find sleeve.

INNER SLEEVE. The paper inner sleeve has a small nick to the right hand side. The poly inner has detached but is still intact and inside the sleeve.

THE RECORD. The record has some light scratches and surface marks on both sides. It does still have a glossy look to the vinyl. The centre labels are clean, no rips or stains. There are spindle marks on both sides.

Overall it's a decent copy of this great album, and certainly good enough to add to your collection.
