A quite wonderful set of FOURTEEN photo proofs of the Who taken in an outdoor session in 1967 - location or intended use unknown.
You are bidding on FOURTEEN (there are only 8 pictured as I only have a camera phone!) small photo proofs on their original 'cut' photo stock - matt photos which I think would have been used for scrutiny under magnifying glass - Roger is blinking in some of these, but in the majority the band are smiling, joking around and Pete looks dandy in his cravat and velvet suit!!!
BLACK AND WHITE IMAGES ON ORIGINAL PHOTO STOCK (NOT REPRODUCTION!), A TOTAL OF FOURTEEN PIECES, I AM NOT SELLING YOU THE COPYRIGHT OR OWNERSHIP OF THE IMAGES FOR RESALE OR USAGE OF COURSE, THESE BELONG TO ME AS MATERIAL ITEMS BUT COPYRIGHT REMAINS WITH THE PHOTOGRAPHER!!! THEY ARE ORIGINAL 1967 VINTAGE PROOFS WHICH WERE REJECTED AT THE TIME FOR WHATEVER REASON, 100% GENUINE, NOT REPRODUCTIONS OR YOUR MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED
ONCE AGAIN, THE PHOTO PROOFS THEMSELVES ARE APPROX 3/4 SIZE OF A 'STANDARD' PHOTOGRAPH PRINT, THEY ARE VINTAGE AND DUE TO THE NATURE OF THEIR USAGE (AS PROOFS TO BE SCRUTINISED AND QUALITY CHECKED BEFORE USE IN THE MEDIA) THEY HAVE BEEN CUT FROM ONE LARGE SHEET OR ROLL I WOULD THINK - THE ACTUAL IMAGES ARE CLEAN, RIP AND ANNOTATION FREE - BEAUTIFUL AND A REAL ODDITY! YOU WON'T SEE OFFICIALLY RELEASED WHO PROMO PHOTOS COMING UP FOR SALE NEVER MIND PHOTOGRAPH PROOFS WHICH WOULD USUALLY BE BINNED.
Unsure of the photographer but some of the other WHO pictures I have (not yet for sale I think I may prefer to hang on to them) have CHRIS MORPHET copyright notes and (old style) address and contact details stamped on the rear in blue ink - perhaps these are more Morphet out-takes, he was after all an official Redferns/Who photographer!
I obtained these along with fan club (Deirdre Meehan) postcards, mail envelopes, other 10 x 8 inch photograph shots and other pieces - the centre point being the two signed 1967 photographs (signed for the former record employee I bought these off) along with his personal white label Decca sample only stamped pressing of the Who Sell Out LP.
NO RESERVE as I am unsure of their worth since the collection was purchased primarly for the signed photographs which I am hanging on to. Perhaps you'll grab a bargain. Cheque/postal order/registered cash/paypal (overseas please). Nothing to hide here, local pick up or inspection can probably be arranged.
