Originally recorded in 1968, this is a limited out-of-print numbered repress from the early 90s of the LP by The Smack on Smack TS9104. The story of how this LP came about is quite interesting!

Of the many hundreds of teens who attended The Midwestern Band And Art Camp of Lawrence,Kansas in the summer of 1968,only four were into then-current rock music. The others were all into marching band music! These four naturally found one another and played rock music at night and marching band music during the day at camp. As the six week long camp drew to a close, campers got up on the stage nightly to play to entertain the others. When The Smack got up to do their set of rock music, the camp director immediately pulled the plug, saying they were too loud! They did, however, have fans among their fellow campers. A day later, after camp ended, the four group members recorded nine tracks in a studio in one afternoon. They then went home to their four respective different states and never saw one another again! The studio contracted withRCA to have 100-150 LPs pressed and these were then sent to campers who had signed purchase requests at band camp.

The nine songs recorded for the LP were: Purple Haze, Fire, Sunshine Of Your Love, I'm So Glad, Swalbr, Manic Depression, Set Me Free, For What It's Worth, and Foxy Lady. TREMENDOUS hard psych that I consider to be the best of its class! The handfuls of original copies of this LP known have sold for four figures plus and are not leaving those collections! This limited repress was of 300 copies. Also included is the information insert. These LPs never came sealed.
