In 1964 the band got a record contract with Columbia and the first record they made for Columbia was "Baby What’s Wrong". In the end of the year Downliners Sect went into the studio to record their first album which was released before Christmas. The album, "The Sect" is a masterpiece! A classic album which shows Downliners Sect at their best. 14 raunchy rhytm’n’ blues and rock songs, most of it taken from outside sources but also some own compositions like "Sect Appeal" and "Be A Sect Maniac". More than 30 years after its release, the album still sparks with energy and affection for the music.

Supplied in it's original columbia/EMI sleeve (photo of the band by Bruce Fleming on the front and text on the rear cover). Sleeve cover in Excellent condition. No creases and no wrirting. Spine intact. Some minor discolouration to rear cover only.

The VINYL is in Excellent condition with 0ne 0r two very superficial surface scratches visually on side one only. The vinyl retains its original vinyl shine. ( I have not played this record to verify condition or sound quality as I no longer own a record player and the previous comments pertinent to condition are based on an honest visual appraisal).

All label's are on the black and blue COLUMBIA badge and are in Excellent condition, with no unwanted writing or scuffs and the spindal hole is tight and crisp, with minimal wear.
