The Scavengers ?– The Scavengers LP [with insert-poster] (Action Records LW 10078 NZ) SUPER LIMITED
The Scavengers were one of New Zealand's first and most notorious punk bands. In their time they never released an album, only 2 songs on the AK•79 LP (or AK79 or AK-79) before calling punk over and becoming the more Post Punk Marching Girls. This was ultimate the official Scavengers album, as I recall it was released in a ridiculous limited run (I think 150 or 200 of this edition) by Action Records with a mini poster with the band's full support (it was an official release). As I recall they did some reunion gigs around the time of this release.LP is MINT to MINT-/Cover is EXC to VG+ (left bottom corner is dinged with some light bending)/Insert is MINT.
They would move to Australia and two would eventually form Dead Can Dance with Lisa Gerrard & fellow NZ punk James Pinker (Features, Fetus Productions). Not sure that's an exact timeline, but you get the picture. Scavengers were co-led by Dead Can Dance's Brendan Perry.

"New Zealand garage and punk rock revivalists Action Records have unleashed a slew of new vinyl onto the collector market, including four seven inch EPs and an extremely overdue "debut album" from late seventies post-Pistols punkers The Scavengers. Central figures in the late seventies Auckland punk scene, The Scavengers had until now only released two songs on the legendary AK-79 compilation, but the fine folks at Action have compiled all 10 studio tracks recorded by the band along with audio clips from a 1978 TV documentary on New Zealand punk into an essential album for fans of nasty seventies punk rock. Also new on Action Records are archive 7" EPs from sixties teen garage rock sensations Tom Thumb, a "raw and obscure" split EP from The Dark Ages and Grimm Limited, and more seventies Auckland punk rock from The Spelling Mistakes. Grounding all this archive Action is a new three track 7" release from Auckland's The Rock 'n' Roll Machine, last seen in full gear smashing action at the recent b.net New Zealand Music Awards. A quick note about international postage rates: In 2013 & again in 2016 the US Postal Service significantly raised the cost of shipping packages (to everywhere outside the US). With my shipping prices I try to do my best to reflect accurate shipping costs & packaging material (I do try to be responsible & recycle when I can).
