THE SABRES - ULTRA RARE ROCKABILLY 45 - ON KAT # 100

    Artist:  THE SABRES
Title:  MY HOT MAMA / PUPPET
    Label:  KAT # 100 - MONO
    Date: 1958
Condition: VINYL - STRONG VG, LABEL - STRONG VG
Add’’l Comments:  YEP, IT'S THE REAL THING!  THIS IS THE SABRES ON KAT RECORD LABEL # KAT 100A-45 & KAT 100B-45.  THE WILD VOCALS ON BOTH SIDES ARE SUNG BY LOUIS GITTENS AND BOTH ARE WRITTEN BY A. DEAL.
    PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:
THE RECORD IS GRADED AT A 'STRONG VG'.  THE VINYL SHOWS OVERALL MODERATE STACKING AND STORAGE WEAR AND SCUFFS ON THE 'B' SIDE.  THE WHITE KAT LABEL SHOWS SOME AGE WEAR AND LIGHT PENCIL NAME WRITTEN ON BOTH SIDES AND A LIGHT STAIN THE THE 'A' SIDE.
NOW THE GOOD PART.  THE RECORD PLAYS THROUGH GREAT; NO SKIPS, WARPS OR CRACKS.  THE AUDIO IS VERY STRONG AND SOUNDS GREAT WITH SOME BACKGROUND NOISE BUT BY NO MEANS OVERWHELMING.  THE NUMBERS IN THE DEAD WAX ARE HAND ETCHED AND READ "100A - 45' AND '100B - 45'.  BOTTOM LINE FOR THIS VERY RARE AND DESIRABLE 45 IS THAT IT SOUNDS MUCH BETTER THAN IT LOOKS AND WILL BE A CROWN JEWEL IN ANY SERIOUS ROCKABILLY COLLECTION.
WE ARE OFFERING THIS GREAT PIECE WITH NO RESERVE.

PLEASE EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING.  THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!

We grade all vinyl according to the Goldmine standards which are as follows:

Mint (M) - "These are absolutely perfect in every way."

Near Mint (NM) - "it looks like it just came from a retail store and was opened for the first time." NM records are shiny, with no visible defects. Writing, stickers, or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any spindle marks from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable.

Very Good Plus (VG+) - These records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated play has not misshaped the center hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticed.

Very Good (VG) - These records have more obvious flaws. The lack most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches, deep enough to feel with a fingernail. When played, a VG record has surface noise, perhaps even an occasional audible light scratch, especially in soft passages and during a song’’s intro and ending.

Lesser grades such as Good (G), Good Plus (G+), or Very Good Minus (VG-) will be addressed at time of listing.

Thanks for Looking and Good Luck!
