Notes:

An offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition) by The Rolling Stones called "Promotional Album" and is an ORIGINAL 1969 UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Decca label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. THIS IS WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THE RAREST UK ROLLING STONES LP EVER MADE - AND THE ULTIMATE ROLLING STONES RARITY. JUST TRY AND FIND ANOTHER ONE. ONLY 100 UK COPIES WERE EVER MADE - SPECIALLY FOR UK RADIO STATIONS ONLY. NO EXTRA COPIES WERE EVER MADE - AND THERE WAS NO COPIES FOR MUSIC REVIEWERS, OR INDIVIDUAL. THIS LP WAS SIMPLY AND STRICTLY MADE - FOR 1 PER UK RADIO STATION ONLY, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY THIS LP IS SO AMAZINGLY RARE TODAY AND AS RADIO STATIONS CLOSED DOWN OVER THE YEARS, MANY WOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED OR BADLY DAMAGED - LEAVING BARELY ANY LEFT IN EXISTENCE TODAY. ONLY 2 OR 3 UK COPIES HAVE TURNED UP FOR SALE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS (AND NONE RECENTLY!) - SO THINK VERY VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE PASSING ON THIS LP, FOR THE CHANCES OF ANOTHER ONE EVER COMING UP FOR SALE AGAIN ARE VIRTUALLY ZERO!!!! SO THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT AT ALL, THAT THIS IS THE ULTIMATE UK ROLLING STONES RARITY, AND UNDOUBTEDLY THE RAREST UK ROLLING STONES LP EVER MADE NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS IN BRILLIANT CONDITION AND HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL 1969 UK 'PROMOTIONAL ONLY' 1ST PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS DECCA LABEL, 1ST PRESS RED MONO INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS 'PROMOTIONAL ONLY' COVER. THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY This is the ORIGINAL Decca UK 1st Pressing from 1969 and is in BRILLIANT condition. The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The Cat. No is RSM 1 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Decca label (see picture) and is a UK MONO 1st Pressing.

The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and barely ANY spindle marks AT ALL. IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THIS RECORD HAS BARELY BEEN PLAYED AT ALL. The vinyl is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition. Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, only 2 or 3 TINY hairlines, NO scufflines, and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light. THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND SHINES LIKE NEW. It is also great to find that the record plays as STUNNINGLY as the visual with NO pops, barely ANY clicks, NO sticking, NO jumps, and barely ANY crackle AT ALL. The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO distortion and NO groovewear either. The record must grade Very Good++ if not better BRILLIANT RECORD Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to Brillant The record comes in its ORIGINAL 1st Press Red Mono inner sleeve which is in SUPERB condition. The 1st Press 'Promotional' Cover is in GREAT condition. It has only VERY slight edge wear (NO splits!), only VERY slight spinal wear (NO splits!), only slight corner wear, barely ANY creases AT ALL (cover is VERY flat looking!), NO ringwear, only very VERY slight rubbing, NO sticker marks, NO sticker tears, and NO writing. The opening edge is still VERY straight indeed. Even the back of the cover is in GREAT condition with NO grubbyness, NO ringwear, NO rubbing, barely ANY yellowing, and NO writing. The cover must grade Very Good+ and is very VERY presentable indeed. THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY.

HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I DO MY BEST TO SHOW THE RECORD FROM ALL ANGLES AND MAKE THE PICTURES AS CLEAR AS POSSIBLE - THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE. It really is a GREAT looking LP and it is truly rare to find any copies of this MEGA RARE LP. THIS WILL BE YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO BUY AN ORIGINAL 1969 UK MONO 1ST PRESSING OF "PROMOTIONAL ALBUM" BY THE ROLLING STONES, IN BRILLIANT CONDITION. Dont forget to take a look at all my other items including many other TOP LPs .Thanks for looking! Cheers...

On Apr-25-11 at 10:58:25 PDT, seller added the following information:

Only 400 copies of this mega-rarity were pressed -- 200 for the American market and 200 for the UK market. The UK issue had a UK Decca label LP disc (catalogue number RSM-1) issued in a US sleeve (with catalogue number RSD-1) whilst the American disc was issued on the blue London label with an RSD-1 catalogue number on both the sleeve and label.

The Vinyl has some very light barely visible surface marks (not scratches) that do not affect play, though there is one small scratch on track 4, side 2 (Sympathy For The Devil) which causes an audible click for approx 15 seconds. Apart from that minor defect, the audio quality is clear and crisp with near silent track breaks, free from noise or crackle.

Depending which sources you read, the version of Love In Vain is apparently an alternate take unavailable from any other source -- though this has often been disputed.

The picture on the sleeve was taken during the Let It Bleed recording sessions. It is a sepia toned shot of the band in the studio against a white background with the band name at the top and 'A Special Radio Promotion Album In Limited Edition Not For Sale' text.

Due to the white background there is some light age discolouration visible to the front of the sleeve - though not excessive. What is amazing is that this copy is free from cut-out holes -- and more notably sleeve splits, which are present in almost every other copy of this album that has surfaced for sale over the last 10 years!

The back of the sleeve shows a black and white picture of Mick in the centre. To the left is a list (complete with tracklistings) of all 13 US Stones albums released prior to Let It Bleed. The right hand side has the tracklisting (see below) and the following text...

"This album has been prepared for radio stations only by The Rolling Stones as a program aid. It was felt that most stations have in their library both volumes of The Rolling Stones Hits LP's (NPS-1 And NPS-3) and that one more LP, assembled especially for radio stations, could be of great help in programming. This LP, consisting of 14 Rolling Stones selections, spans the complete recorded history of The Rolling Stones beginning with one of their earliest recordings (Route 66) and ending with a brand new selection which will be included in The Rolling Stones' next LP (Love In Vain).

This LP, then, in combination with the other two hits LPs can provide radio stations of a comprehensive history of The Rolling Stones."
