Description

THE ROLLING STONES

The Rolling Stones (Decca LK 4605)

Here’s a lovely copy of one of the all-time Stones rarities, the original mistakenly-pressed issue of their classic debut. This was briefly available in April 1964, before it was realised that the wrong take of ‘Tell Me’ had somehow been used. This take is far shorter (2:52) and rougher than the official performance, which was immediately substituted on all other pressings. It is not know how many mispressed copies were made, but they are identifiable by the matrix numbers XARL-6271-1A (side one) and XARL-6272-1A (side two), as well as the visibly shorter amount of space it takes up on the disc.

SLEEVE CONDITION

The front-laminated flipback is in beautiful EX shape, with a couple of small creases, but no writing, splits, ringwear or other damage. The spine is fully legible and the colours are beautiful. As good an example as you’re likely to find.

VINYL CONDITION

The heavy disc is in VG+ condition. It still has a good sheen, with hairlines and minor marks. It plays through beautifully, with only minor surface noise.
