The album was released in 1971. At the time the band was busy and toured almost the whole year, so they recorded on tour and the album was recorded in various studious around the world between 1969 and 1971. “Sticky Fingers” was also the first album to feature the new guitarist Mick Taylor, who replace Brian Jones who had to leave the band because he had a serious drug problem. In the meantime he died. Mick Taylor already played on two songs on the previous studio album “Let it Bleed” but this time he was involved in the process of recording and was the reason why the band went into a more blues dominated direction.

The album is as I said a collection of great songs and often mentioned as the band’s ultimate studio record. My favorite songs of this album are the hard rocking opener “Brown Sugar”, the rocking “Bitch”, the riff dominated “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking”, the happy “Sway”, the bluesy “Sister Morphine”, the final “Moonlight Mile” and the slow “I Got the Blues”. My absolute favorite tunes on this record are the country number “Dead Flowers” and the beautiful acoustic number “Wild Horses”
