Description
Hi, and welcome to "psych_out!" auctions!!!
I specialize in 50's, 60's, and early 70's records of almost every genre - Jazz, Blues, Psych, Folk, Soul, Rock, Pop e.t.c and everything in between! I've been dealing records for years, but i'm new to the ebay game so i'd like to tell you all of my intentions. I travel all over the UK hunting out the VERY BEST records I can find. Obviously, 90%+ of the ones I can find are completely trashed from the hard living ways and the rock 'n' roll, drug and booze fuelled debauchery of all the wild parties of the times, but the golden 10%? I offer them to all of you serious record collectors out there!!!
I'm going to start by listing 20 LP's a week every Friday and Saturday, all timed to end 10 days later on Monday and Tuesday night. Hopefully after a while, i'll be able to step things up a gear or two in good time. I'll only ever offer THE BEST, MOST AMAZING, MOST IMPORTANT, VERY RAREST UK 1ST PRESS ORIGINAL RELEASE RECORDS I can ever possibly find!!! I won't insult you with later 2nd pressings unless they are of exceptional quality and rarity. I'm sure you love good music as much as me, especially when it's a 1st Press LP, direct from the master tape, as the musicians intended it to be heard (none of this "digitally remastered", weak reissued, remixed rubbish from hired hands with one eye on the mixing desk and the other on the clock! If these session men really knew how genius should sound, surely they would've been geniuses themselves?! There will only ever be one Hendrix, and that's just a tiny example).
I intend to become one of the best sellers on ebay and would like to thank all of you potential bidders for your support and taste in music!!! I strictly grade all LP's I list, visually and sonically (on a very lightweight turntable) as customer satisfaction is highly important to me, and i'll always do my very best not to let you down. Be sure to add me to your favourite sellers list and check my auctions frequently as i'll be listing some gems that you just WON'T want to miss out on!!!
I think that's everything, so let the auction commence!!!
Title : The Rolling Stones - No. 2Label & year : Original "Unboxed" Decca LK 4733 LP , UK Mono 1965 1st Press Vinyl with withdrawn "Blind Man" sleeve!!!
Matrix's : Side A : XARL-6619-1A, Side B : XARL-6620-1A.
About : Ultra rare 1st Press!!! This MASSIVELY RARE LP sold barely anything as a 1st press with the withdrawn "Blind Man" text sleeve and therefore had a very, very small run and is INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND, especially in this condition!!! AN absolute classic LP from this incredible band!!! An astonishing album that really DESERVES to be in EVERY serious 60's / 70's record collection!!! Don't miss out on this MEGA RARE LP, bid now!!!
An incredible album, just look at the track line up! Ranks up there with Out Of Our Heads and Aftermath as the greatest LP's The Stones ever did as far as i'm concerned. Surely THE greatest white blues band there ever was. Classic after classic is reeled off - Warning! This LP contains magic!
Tracklist : Everybody Needs Somebody To Love, Down Home Girl, You Can't Catch Me, Time Is On My Side, What A Shame, Grown Up Wrong, Down The Road Apiece, Under The Boardwalk, I Can't Be Satisfied, Pain In My Heart, Off The Hook, and Susie-Q..
Musicians : Mick Jagger - Vocals, Keith Richard - Guitar, Charlie Watts - Drums, Bill Wyman - Bass, Brian Jones - Guitar and everything else!, and Andrew Loog Oldham - Producer.
Trivia : These 1st presses initially had a passage about mugging a blind man in Andrew Loog Oldham's write up on the back. Now, it was Stones mania at the time and concerned parents actually managed to get the issue of the "blindman text" raised in parliament, concerned that it would lead their kids astray!!! The sleeve was swiftly banned and replaced with a censored version! Incredible by today's standards!!!
The LP :
Labels : Beautiful 1st Press "unboxed" logo red Decca labels. Both sides are GREAT with minimal wear, just a small barely noticable name and some removeable sticker residue on Side A, and the usual light spindle marks from general use!!! BRILLIANT for a 41 year old record!!! Both must grade overall as Very Good minus if not better!!!
Record : Visual - Spectacular ultra thick 1st Press Vinyl!!! Nice bright, clean and shiny as if it was just pressed!!! Fantastic jet black mirror like surfaces, it looks ASTONISHING with NO nasty marks OR groovewear whatsoever!!! The only blemishes are just a few TINY ultra light non sounding hairline scratches, and just the usual light, wispy sleeve traces (only visible in direct light) from general use and where it has sat or been removed from it's cover over the years!!! UNBELIEVABLE for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall as Very Good++ if not better!!!
Record : Audio - Fantastic mono blast and clarity!!! It really sounds amazing with NO hops, distortion, sticks, or skips!!! Only has a low level static "bluesman's fag" crackle which nearly all records have, though it doesn't come close to ruining the music AT ALL!!! ASTONISHING for a record of this age and rarity!!! Must grade overall as Very Good++ if not better!!!
Sleeve : Original 1st Press James Upton withdrawn "Blind Man text" cover complete with original inner!!! Very hard to find in anything approaching a good condition - most are spent, torn and worn due to age and the lifestyles of the buyers of this particular LP!!! This one is NOT and looks AMAZING!!! NO graffiti, NO stains, NO dulling, NO tears and still MEGA strong and solid after all these years!!! Only has the slightest age blemishes such as a small amount of light laminate creases and an unobtrusive name on the top left of the back!!! NO seam splits, and the spine is near perfect, and the unlaminated back is still brilliant white with only the TINYEST signs of ageing - EXCEPTIONAL for this sleeve!!! Must grade overall as Excellent minus if not better!!! (apologies for any yellow light reflection in the pics)
Summary : A truly FANTASTIC copy of this ASTONISHINGLY RARE 1ST PRESS LP!!! Don't miss out!!!
